The best cheap trench you'll ever buy.

First, let's clear the air with some brutal honesty: This coat features poor quality leather, laughable seam work, shoddy quality control (you may end up returning a defective product), and the most ridiculous excuse for a coat liner I've ever seen. They cut more corners than I can shake a stick at with this coat, hence the price.So why 5 stars? Because this kind of coat fills a crucial niche at a marvelous price point. This is *not* a gentleman's trench. This is that extra layer of skin between you and an unfair world. Who wants a coat you worry about getting stuff on? Not me - I'm too busy living. This is a great coat for living in.I've been wearing these coats religiously for the past 8 years. Note the plural - I'm on my 2nd one now and am considering getting a 3rd sometime soon. So if you wear this coat a lot (and not always in the nicest of environments), expect maybe 3-4 years out of it depending how much "character" you like your coats to have. Note that I make zero effort to care for my coat whatsoever. I still have my old one for when I feel like going post-apoc, or if I ever want to make something out of leather in the future.This coat has become part of my iconic look as a musician and artist. It makes an immediate impression - I have received more compliments on this coat than every other piece of clothing I have combined. While the frankenstein-esque leather screams CHEAP AS DIRT to anyone who knows leather, most people will be ignorant of this and will simply be impressed that you're wearing "real leather". In fact, the patchwork design is aesthetically striking to a lot of people simply because it is distinct, which is a plus in my book. Let's face it: if you're wearing a black leather trench, you're wanting to differentiate yourself a bit, yes?The practically non-existent liner is a sheet of nylon (I think) with some token fluffy stuff inside. So, this isn't a good coat to rely on as your primary means of staying warm. I personally like it this way, however, because it makes the coat more versatile. It's viable in warmer weather as well as cold. As an "outer skin layer", it performs admirably - you can avoid sunburns and catch some wind with it open in warmer weather, or button down and keep the worst of a dreary storm off your back (and out of your boots).The pockets are SPACIOUS... you can carry a ton of crap in these coats, and I regularly do. I fondly refer to it as my "man purse". Friends have been surprised more than once upon lifting my coat up and realizing just how heavy it would be.The one actual issue that arises from the coat's poor quality is that it's just a matter of time before the seams in the pockets give out. They WILL develop holes, period. Keys are a big contributor to this happening. Pens are generally a bad idea. But this is such a minor issue it's barely worth mentioning. If you can afford this coat, you can also afford a needle and some black thread. It takes minutes to patch up the pocket wear that accrues over years. Not a big deal. Also, in the unfortunate event that you should suddenly get a hole big enough for stuff to fall through, it goes INSIDE your coat. So you won't actually lose anything this way - you'll just wonder why you suddenly hear keys jingling by your feet. XDIn summary, this is a fantastic coat for the money you're spending. Buy it. Or don't! I rather like being one of the only people running around in these things...

Price Mistake????

I cannot believe this coat! It would cost hundreds in any store. The leather is soft and thick. It fits perfectly and looks great. I keep wondering when the police will show up and confiscate it. It is a steal!

Trench Coat

This coat is a steal for the price. It fits great and takes care of the chill and the rain. Looks stylish so you can wear it out anywhere. It's lined so it keeps you warm. It is very comfortable and moves well.I recommend it for anyone needing a overcoat for warmth or rain.
